Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where do I go for training?
A:Observing a Caring Center that's operational is a tremendous help. Coming to Memphis (where Caring Center began) would be a wonderful way to learn, but if that isn't possible there are other ways we can help. The training is provided free, although our travel may be limited by the cost of airfare. Much of the information that you'll need is printed in our training materials and our goal is to make the entire process a joyous and easy one.

Q: How do I recruit practitioners for my Caring Center? I'm concerned that I won't have enough practitioners to meet the demand.
A: One of the joys of this work is watching how beautifully the process unfolds once it has begun. We have a Power Point presentation that should be a big help when you make presentations to various groups. You can also talk to folks who operate the massage schools and the people in your area that teach energy work. The Caring Center is a great place for their students to develop skills as they practice side by side with people who've had some experience. Anyone who's had formal training and can provide you with a copy of his or her certificate/license is welcome to participate. People without formal training are not permitted to practice at a Caring Center, even though they may be very gifted. Don't worry; you won't be a "group of one" for long!

Q: How can I find a location for our Caring Center? The town I live in is small and very conservative. Any suggestions?
A: More conservative than Memphis? There are Caring Centers in many different types of settings: churches, a hospital, a holistic health center, a warehouse and a senior center. We'll be glad to assist you with ideas. Our Caring Center coordinators are also great sources for ideas and have wonderful stories about the unfolding of divine order during the creation of their sites.

Q: We've had a Caring Center open for a little over a year and there's been a drop in client participation over the last few months. Last night we had four practitioners and two clients show up. Our practitioners take advantage of the situation by enjoying treatments that they don't usually get. Do other centers experience extremely slow times and in your knowledge how do they handle it?
A: You are experiencing what every center has, the natural pulsation of expansion and contraction. This is not just normal but vital as well. This is an ideal time to focus on the core of the Caring Center, the Practitioners. I'm sure you will smile to know you are at such a wonderful and important stage of growth.
